Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast, formerly Cade’s County, is an outstanding water park that was the brainchild of Colin Herringe. Herringe spent years researching hundreds of water parks worldwide to conceive the Cade’s County Waterpark concept. The original pools and slides were influenced by popular rides from Wet’n’Wild Orlando, White Waters Garland TX, and NaraWorld Japan. Construction began in 1982, and it was the largest water park in the Southern Hemisphere at that time. The water park was renamed Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast and was named after Herringe’s son, Cade. With various water rides and attractions, Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast has become one of the Gold Coast’s most popular tourist attractions.
